What’s the definition of “pledge”? It means a kind of official promises. If you are interested, it “looks” like this on the goggle image.
We’ve lisened and read the pledge of police in UK during the class. I also looked up the pledge of the police in Taiwan. And I found out one thing in common, their promises are something big. Their promises are not like “Okay! Okay! I’ll hand in the homework!” Their promises are serious and include heavy responsibilities and pressure. I did not mean to judge. But most of the police I’ve met are not like their pledge. They often appear to be rude or inpatient. Perhaps this pledge is too heavy for most of them to carry. I do believe keeping promise plays a big part in any relationship. If you can’t, then don’t make any promise. If you make a pledge, then make it happen. I think the police should pay more attention on this subject. After all, we need a police that can be trust rather than a police that may be smart but only give us a bad check.
Yes, what use is a pledge if people don't stick to it?
ReplyDeleteVery nice illustrated post.
