The most honest thing I have done

In our life we have many choices to make, and some are challenging our honesty. For example, are you going to take others' umbrella when raining heavily or taking away the wallet on the street or not. Here is my experience about honesty.

One day my friend invited me to go Van Gogh exhibition with her. To avoid buying tickets in line for a long time, I went to bookstore to buy it before the exhibition. The tickets I bought in bookstore are more expensive than buying at the scene. The cost of the tickets should be 540. I gave the clerk 540, but she gave 100 back to me. I felt very strange. After checking my purse, I was sure she made a mistake. The 100 dollars was given to me. "Should I just keep it?" I first thought to myself. I don't like that bookstore because it seldom gives me discount and only there can buy books I need. It is very stingy. To be honesty, I didn't want to return 100 dollars to the bookstore. But I was afraid that the 100 dollars would bring them big trouble. My mom works at a bank. Sometimes she goes home very late because the account was not balance. They have to find the problem. Not until they discover the problem, they can't go home. I was afraid the same problem happens to them. Although I really hate the bookstore, I returned 100 dollars to the clerk. I think "Honesty is the best policy."

  1. Not liking the bookstore would not have been a good reason for keeping the money! I expect that the clerk would have had to pay the $100 herself, if you had not returned it.
